Meeta, Bhargavi, Bree and I set up for two hours before the Hindu Society dinner last saturday in the church basement (which is beautiful - i'd never been down there and had no idea!!), and it was a lot of fun, here are photos!

Halloween was great today as well! Mikaela, Lydia and I pulled off the Alice in Wonderland theme, so it was very fun.

so i kind of miss living in the west.

i just finished On the Road, which has a lot of glorious descriptions of the western United States - Southern Colorado, New Mexico, El Paso, Wyoming, Utah, and in my English class we're reading Animal Dreams, by Barbara Kingsolver, which is set in Arizona, and the night before last i started crying while I was reading them - here's why, see for yourselves.

These are both from San Luis, Colorado, from our 9th grade Taos trip last year. On the Road didn't mention San Luis, but it mentioned a bunch of towns nearby, like Walsenburg, where the landscape is basically the same.
